If there’s one thing to take away from this list it’s that you should watch Over the Garden Wall which is perfect for the spooky season. It’s an animated tv series about two brothers who get lost in a forest called the Unknown on Halloween night. Light hearted but layered with a lil sinister story telling. (Or Labyrinth with David Bowie is always a classic)

Five Seasons: Gardens of Piet Oudolf (2017)
Documentary of landscape designer Piet Oudolf (who did the High Line in NY) and his approach to designing for all seasons. It opened my eyes to the beauty of nature in its blooming and decaying states.
Sky Ladder: Cai Quo-Qiang (2016)
Documents an artist’s childhood ambition and vision for an art piece.
Maison Mariela Artisanal 2024 ‘Nighthawk’ (2024)
Documentary exploring John Galliano’s fashion show. I had to use every brain cell to follow but it was very fascinating.
Secret of Kells (2009) and Song of the Sea (2014)
Intertwines Irish folklore with unique animation into these two different movies.
The Fall (2008)
Love the visuals in this movie featuring Lee Pace.
Dead Man (1995)
Black and white western film with Neil Young improvising on the guitar.
Fifth Element (1997)
Science fiction movie with Bruce Willis and Milla Jovovich and Jean Paul Gaultier as costumer designer…
